Lecture recording (eLectures)

Live streaming of lectures, digital lecture recordings and audio recordings are possibilities to make courses accessible to students through the latest media technologies. The scenarios we offer for course recordings are described below. Depending on the personnel capacity, the recording is carried out completely by us. Alternatively, we offer support for recordings carried out independently (camera briefing, help with setting up and starting the recording, video coding). For screencasts, several laptops with the Camtasia software and the necessary equipment are available. To enable students to access the edited recordings on the Internet, they are made available online either via PANDA or via the IMT video portal.

The following scenarios can be represented:

Lecture with blackboard and integrated presentation slides

  • Camera recording of the lecturer (audio and video) and the blackboard
  • Recording with the software Wirecast with integration of the presentation into the video
  • Provision of the video via the streaming server (course-bound or public)
  • Livestream on request
  • The Wirecast recording is performed by IMT: Media.

Classical lecture at a lectern or with blackboard and possibly presentation slides

  • Camera recording of the lecturer (audio and video)
  • Camera recording of the blackboard and the presentation
  • Provision of the video via the streaming server (course-bound or public)
  • Livestream on request
  • Camera recording is performed by IMT: Media.
  • Camera recording can also be carried out independently, with instruction and support from IMT: Media.

Recording of the screen content / presentation

  • Record using Camtasia screencast software with graphic, text, and audio-visual content
  • Audio recording of the lecturer (video is possible)
  • Simple editing possible
  • Table of contents
  • Laptop with Camtasia and equipment can be borrowed at IMT: Media (with instruction).

If you have any questions, suggestions or interest in having your lecture recorded, please contact Sybille Filehr (Tel. 2822) or send an e-mail to electures(at)uni-paderborn(dot)de.
