With the service RIS, the IMT offers the possibility of maintaining a central university bibliography. The aim is to record the published research results of the Paderborn University and to make them available for various purposes. For this purpose, corresponding recording, search and export functions are available. In addition, bibliographies can be output in the central content management system TYPO3, e.g. for persons or organizational units.

Bibliographic data (publication references) is entered and maintained decentrally or by the authors of the publications themselves. Specific metadata can be entered via different publication types.

The service can be used - in the role of an 'editor' - by all employees of the university who publish or enter publications for someone - for all other groups of persons a service permission is required. Permissions are granted to all persons who publish within the scientific operation of the Paderborn University or who need access for official reasons. The search in RIS is possible worldwide.
